My name is Alison Brown. I have lived in Folksworth since 1985, moving here due to my husband, Geoff’s, work. We have 3 children , now grown up and living out of the locality. I worked for over 30 years for the NHS, but am now retired.
I have always enjoyed being involved with the community. When the children were young, I was involved with Preschool, the toddler group, later was clerk to the school governors and then a School Governor.
I have been on the Parish Council since 1999, five years as chairman between 2003 and 2008. It is a privilege to have been on the Parish Council all these years, working with other members to help maintain and improve the environment and facilities in the Parish. Currently I am involved, with other Councillors and members of the Parish, to reclaim an area behind the pond and develop a Community Orchard. I also have a great interest in family and local history and have been involved in the more recent local history exhibitions in the Parish.
