Statement from Gigaclear re works in Folksworth

Hello,

We sent letters to all residents in Folksworth and Stilton in April regarding our upcoming planned works and what to expect. We then invited all residents to attend an online community event which took place in June, which many of you attended.  I went through information about our company, and what to expect from our build and anticipated timelines for works to be undertaken. There was a positive response to this meeting and a number of residents have been looking forward to accessing our ultra fast full fibre network. Working with the community is key to Gigaclear before and throughout the build process.

Work has started in Folksworth by our contractor  over the last few weeks and unfortunately some of these works have not been completed to the high standards that we expect..  The Parish Council Clerk has been very active in sending all comments, photos, and concerns to me.  Whilst this is a major infrastructure upgrade, some of the standards we have seen are not acceptable.  Please be assured that our Build team within Gigaclear are addressing these concerns with our contractor.

Across all our sites, we have had Project Delivery Leads (PDL) on the ground on a regular basis to monitor the work being carried out and to pick up issues as they occur.  Due to the substandard quality of work, we have now assigned two PDLs to this build area who will be on site regularly monitoring the gangs.  At least one PDL from Gigaclear will be monitoring the site throughout the day over the next few weeks. As part of this monitoring regular audits will be carried on the work crews to ensure the necessary standards of work are adhered too moving forward.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused. We take all feedback seriously, and please be assured that we are committed to rectifying any remaining issues as soon as possible. We do have some work still to do in the area and please do continue to report to your Parish Council. Alternatively, you can contact our Gigaclear Customer Operations team ay networkbuildqueries@gigaclear.com or by calling 0370 774 0537. I am planning a drop-in session for this build area for you to ask your questions in October and would welcome all questions, queries, or concerns.  I will pass on the details of this to the Parish Council when finalised and we will also send an invite to all residents.

You can keep up to date with the permit information by going to https://one.network/ this is the permit information for all utility companies and is free to use.
